Hats Trucker caps off to HVIA for organising another absolutely outstanding Brisbane Truck Show this year at the Brisbane Convention Centre!

A handful of our managers, salespeople and other team members had the opportunity to head up to Brisbane in May to attend the Show, which is the southern hemispheres largest transport industry event. There, we had the chance to connect with other industry professionals and catch up with some of our customers who were also attending.

There were hundreds of exhibitors to visit over the 4-day event, but the standout (of course) was the epic display by PACCAR Australia, where we were able to get up close and personal with some of the impressive new models. Here’s just some of the highlights from the stand below.

Kenworth T680
This hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle example displayed is just one of ten produced so far and has already clocked a few kilometres on the road. Producing 630hp, this powertrain features a Toyota hydrogen fuel cell which has 60kg of hydrogen gas stored at 10,000psi and can supply enough energy to the fuel cell for a range of 480km, with a mere 15-minute refuelling time. It was very impressive to see what is expected to be the future of cleaner transport solutions in Australia.

DAF Electric – LF
This new DAF 19-tonner, has a 260kW electric motor powered by a 282kWh battery pack. Resulting in outstanding performance and a range of up to 280km, this state-of-the-art vehicle is a welcomed transition towards the zero-emission technologies.

DAF XG+ 660 new model.
DAF revealed the first look of their brand-new model – the XG+ 660, the biggest design project in DAF Truck Australia’s history! Due to launch in 2024, this new flagship offers superior comfort in an elongated cab which provides outstanding field of vision and excellent aerodynamic performance. There was no question, that this luxury cabover model, that boasts a 15-litre 660hp engine, was a showstopper for all that attended the Truck Show! We are looking forward to seeing the XG+ 660 at our dealership in 2024!

Kenworth K220
Unsurprisingly, the Kenworth K220 was named ‘Australasia Truck of the Year’ on day one of the Brisbane Truck Show. This annual award is presented to trucks recently introduced into the market which have made a significant contribution to road transport safety and efficiency. The judging process relies on an array of crucial factors, including technological innovation, comfort, safety, driveability, and fuel economy. A well-deserved title for this innovative rig!

There was a lot to enjoy at this year’s event and these trucks were certainly a stand out!
