In a landmark delivery that’s turning heads across the mining and logistics sectors, our team are in the process of supplying Symons Clark Logistics with a fleet of 37 heavy-duty trucks, 26 Kenworth T909s and 11 T659s, custom-built to meet the rigorous demands of mine site operations. This delivery marks a significant milestone in a partnership built on trust, precision, and shared vision.

This order was the result of Symons Clark Logistics securing a significant contract with Aurizon. These trucks will be used to transport produce out of mine sites, to either Pimba or Port Adelaide, and loading the cargo onto Aurizon trains.

Built for the Toughest Terrain

CMV Truck Centre Sales Consultant, Jed Kerin worked closely with (name) from Symon Clark Logistics to ensure these trucks were built for purpose and explains the rationale behind the model selection. 

“These trucks have a proven history of being hard wearing, and reliable, they’re perfect for the job,” says Jed. 

Each vehicle is mining spec, and features side tipper trailers and scale trailers sourced from Bruce Rock (WA) and Roebuck (QLD). The new fleet includes 11 tri-drive trucks rated at 196.5 tonnes and 26 bogie-drive trucks rated at 138 tonnes.

Every truck is also equipped with PACCAR Connect, enabling remote diagnostics and support when needed.

Precision Delivery and Custom Fitouts

Symons Clark Logistics confirmed their order with CMV Truck Centre in May 2025, with deliveries commencing in September. Since then, our team has delivered 27 trucks in just five weeks. 

Each truck has also undergone at least 240 hours of custom work, with our Pre-Delivery workshop operating seven days a week to meet demand.

The Pre-Delivery team has been instrumental in this order and we can’t thank them enough for all their hard work. Led by Jack Longdon, with design support from Harley using advanced laser scanning systems, the team has tackled complex fabrication tasks including conveyor guards, electrical systems, and powder-coated step skirts and lights completed in conjunction with Arcote. 

We have also worked with third-party suppliers to ensure compliance with DG (Dangerous Goods) and SME (Surface Mine Equipment) standards. All 27 vehicles that have already been delivered passed their first independent SME inspections at Cavpower, which a testament to the attention to detail paid by Jed and our highly-skilled Pre-Delivery team.

Innovation That Inspires

The vision of Symons Clark Logistics’ Asset & Facilities Manager, James Clark, has elevated the project beyond functionality. His ability to think outside the box when addressing SME requirements, like replacing standard yellow reflective stickers with powder-coated red handles and grip tape, has sparked interest from other customers. 

“James has changed my way of thinking,” says Jed. “Now other customers are asking for similar upgrades, even if they’re not SME trucks.”

This level of customization and care has created a ripple effect, influencing design standards and customer expectations across the board.

A Partnership Built on Trust

Jed describes the relationship CMV Truck Centre has with Symons Clark Logistics as “excellent, trustworthy, honest, and frank.”  

“We don’t have time to waste each other’s time. The directness, the honesty, and the trust is what I appreciate,” explains Jed.

Behind the scenes, the collaboration and camaraderie between our team and departments is evident. 

“I feel like I work for the guys at the back,” Jed shares. “Their skill level is incredible. I have such a greater understanding now of what they do and the time it requires, which people often underestimate. For example, just how long parts take to fit” 

With at least 100 new jobs created within Symons Clark Logistics team thanks to this new contract, and a fleet that’s redefining mine site logistics, we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of this project. We look forward to working with the Symons Clark Logistics team well into the future.
